BENEVOLENCES
In development 2025-2026A research-based project exploring the concept of benevolence within colonial contexts. It takes the historical Colonies of Benevolence as a point of departure to examine how power, care, and control can be entangled.
The project is supported by the CBK Rotterdam I&V Scheme 2024 and is currently being developed at NIAS-KNAW through the Nouveau Grand Tour Fellowship, in partnership with Institut Français NL.
The research is expected to result in two films: a creative documentary and a feature-length fiction.
SYMBIOTIC BITE
In development 2025-2026A creative documentary about the complex relationship between humans and leeches. Combining history, anthropology, biology, and philosophy, the film follows the medical leech and the network of scientists, doctors, and practices attached to it.
