F001 → Ninfa Fluida
Experimental Documentary | 17’ | 4K DCP | 1:85 | Netherlands | 2024

Ninfa Fluida is a short experimental documentary that delves into the interaction between water and imagination. It features a poet, a biologist, and a flatworm, offering an unconventional portrayal of the Rotte river. The film explores the emotional connection between humans and water, intertwining biophysical regeneration, river poetry, and microscopic cinematography. Guided by a murmuring voice and the fluid presence of flatworms and nymphs, Ninfa Fluida prompts us to refect on the delicate balance between fascination and exploitation in human endeavours, whether artistic or scientific.

The film was supported by Mondriaan Fonds, CBK Rotterdam and Droom en Daad. It was made with the participation of the European Research Institute for the Biology of Ageing (ERIBA) at University Medical Center Groningen, The Netherlands. It premiered at the International Film Festival Rotterdam in January 2024.
