MAAS CONFUSION explores confusion as an aesthetic and perceptual force. Developed from a technique created during a 2023 residency at TENT Rotterdam, the film deliberately mis-encodes camera signals to produce iridescent distortions. Shot along the Maas River, it brings together improvised performance, hydrofeminist thought, and experiences of early parenthood. Premiered at IFFR 2025 and Rotterdam Art Week 2025.
NINFA FLUIDA explores the relationship between water, imagination, and regeneration. Emerging from a single droplet of river water, the film reimagines the highly managed Rotte River through a fluid, multilayered lens. A microscopic flatworm, capable of extraordinary regeneration, becomes a point of departure for an exploration developed with ERIBA-UMCG. Blending scientific observation, myth, and poetry, the film reflects on ecological fragility and the porous boundaries between human and nonhuman life. Premiered at IFFR 2024, followed by a Special Mention at the Seoul Animal Film Festival 2024.

ABIDINGS is a series of 35mm hybrid silent animations, each derived from a single photograph made with a shutterless camera. Focusing on simple subjects—pond water, train journeys, river plants, and sunsets—the works extend my experiments with continuous exposure and shutterless photography. Presented at V2_Lab Rotterdam as part of The Gestures of Opening, my master’s research at the Piet Zwart Institute (2018–2020).
ABIDING is a silent experimental animation created from a single 35mm photograph using a shutterless camera. Through continuous exposure, technical disruption becomes an aesthetic of fluidity, allowing light, film, and bodily movement to shape the image. The process moves away from the controlled precision of conventional photography, making gesture and motion part of representation itself. Positioned between stillness and movement, photography and cinema, clarity and abstraction, Abiding explores how we perceive and construct images. By blurring distinctions of time and space, the film proposes a fluid understanding of experience; one in which confusion and blur are not failures of perception, but conditions through which change can be felt. Premiered at Ji.hlava International Film Festival 2019 with a Special Mention in Fascinations.
